An Expert on your Field

I admire David Vera-Meiggs, because he is unique teacher. His method of to teach is different, because he doesn’t teach as the school, since he tells anecdotes eccentric that he lived. These anecdotes are enough crazy. I don’t know if these anecdotes are truth. For example, He was couple of the translator of Akira Kurosawa, His father knew to Walt Disney in Chile, etc. Always his anecdotes implicate famous people in the history of Chile, the cinema, art, universal history etc.  His stories are very funny. Sincerely I don’t care if these anecdotes are true, because his message is more interesting.

Vera-Meiggs is a teacher of the ICEI. He teaches classic cinema in first grade of the degree cinema and TV.  As well as he has other subjects as Audiovisual narrative, and Film critic.

He is columnist of opera and cinema in the monthly magazine "La Panera". Besides he is scriptwriter and a consultant of cinematographic script. He is recognized for book about cinema as "The audiovisual cavern ", "The truth imaginary", etc. His books are easy reading.

A Band / Singer I like

My band favorite is Kalafina, because his composer is Yuki Kajiura. I love this composer, because she composes music of my favorite anime as Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate Zero, Noir, etc. His music is very magic. Besides his melody add feeling in the anime.
Kalafina is a japonese band that is composed for Wakana, Keiko and Hikaru. They are vocalists. I don't  know a lot information about this band, because I only listen to music. I don't interest for the  life story of the band. According to the Wikipedia this band is born 2007 and  they made debut in January 2008. The typo of music they play are Jpop and New Age.
My favorite song is  "Heavenly Blue" belongs to opening of Aldnoah zero. I don't  know because I like of the song, but I am happy when I listen of the song in youtube especially when I watch the opening, because Youtube erase every the opening of Aldnoah Zero for the Copyright.

The king of cats

This photo was taken two years ago in the living room of my home. There is a giant cat and a big backpack which a Zeppelin. Important aspect to consider that the backpack measure around 70 cm. This is amazing, because the cat is very giant. Then this cat is the Godzilla of domestic feline or the king of the cats. Generally, the cats are small and It is not very giant. I like this photo, because the cat looks imposing and his skin shines. Before this cat was very ugly, but which love and food it became the king of the cats. 

I am the author of the picture. Commonly I don’t like photograph, because I think that one must to life the moment, although paradoxically I love take a picture of cats. My reason is that the cats is adorable, lovely, and unpredictable. Besides every time the cat looks good in the photography. In addition, this cat was very aloof, and it was very difficult for take a photo, because if you approach this cat run for his life. Therefore, this was very enjoyable for photograph.

Christmas!

Today i will talk about my favourite holiday: Christmas! I love Christmas. Is the best date in the year, because all is full of color, everything comes alive, the illuminated streets, the houses, the supermarkets, etc. I love this because is so different than other holidays, is so reflexive, emotional and magical. This holiday is celebrated in december 25. Every year, my mother cooks a roasted turkey, it takes many hours for it to be ready, also, in my family, we almost never eat turkey, so this date is the oportunity to taste this dedicated dish that my mom prepares. Considering the fact that my mom doesn`t like to cook, this is the best gift ever. After my mom fixes the dinner, we go to the religious ceremony “misa de gallo” and then we come home to dinner. In general, christmas is the celebration of Jesus birthday, but the holiday has become a festival of consumism. Althought i don´t so interest in the gifts. I prefer see the shine in the people face when they recieve the gifts, it is magic. Better even is see the children looking for Santa Claus. This is the time of magic, when all is posible.

My Favorite Piece of Technology

Since I was a little girl I always feel a connection with the computer. I see to computer like a colleague that it supports in the bad times and good times, although I know that the  technological device fail.

I had three different computers, because these are old or this burn its hard disk drive. Now I have a notebook ASUS that my father gives for my 24th  birthday.  My notebook has a lot good characteristic, for example, Core i7, RAM of 12 GB, Hard Disk Drive of 1 TB, etc. The notebook I am using to play indie games, browse in the internet, do works, listen music, read manga, watch movies, series and anime.

The life without my notebook would be monotonous.  Really very boring, but I would have that to search another colleague.   

Why did you choose your career?

When i was a girl, i had a dream, but it never hapened. I wanted to study engineering in the Federico Santa María Thecnical University in Valparaiso, because my father studied to become an engineer at this beatiful campus. However, in my fifteens I realized that a lacked the mathematic and science skills or knowledge to apply. Due to a school proyect, I had to make a video about the moon. Because of this, my faher showed me Sony Vegas, an edition software. This is how I edited my first video, with images and a background voice about the moo travels. I had very much fun with it and I cotinued to edit school works, as videoclips. As a result of this, I begun to search information of where I could learn edition in a professional career, when I found that "Cine y Tv" in the University of Chile was the one that met my needs, I applied.

Throughout this five years I’ve been in the university, I’ve learnt a lot of things, but I also realized that I don’t like fiction to much, although, I love documentaries. In the future, I would like to work editing documentaries, because is magical in comparison to fiction

My autobiography

Hello!. My name is Bárbara Olmedo. I am 24 years old. I was born in 1992.  I am studying cinema and tv in the university of the Chile.  My mother is  Argentinean and my father is Chilean. They are divorced. My sister travels for all Latin America, because she loves to meet different places and persons. I have two cats black fat very annoying, but I love. The name of cats is Heaven and Venus. They are 13 years old.
I love anime since I was 8 years old, cause that the anime  Evangelion (1995) surprised a lot  for its story convoluted and its main character unstable. Also I used to watch this anime with my father  every  Sunday in the night. Now we watch Battlestar Galactica.
My family encorage my love to movies because every time  we go to the cinema on weekend. Nevertheless now it is difficult to watch movies, the reason is the university ruins my view about the cinema. Now I see the movies in a very technical way.
